Roisin Maguire is an experienced Executive Headteacher and National Leader in Education with a proven record of significantly driving up academic standards and developing exciting cultural, community and sporting opportunities in a broad range of state secondary schools and is now the Director of the English Schools Office for the Christian Brothers. Whilst being head of St.
Joseph’s College, she also took on the role of Executive Head of Thistley Hough High School, from 2013-14, to support it out of special measures and then took on Birches Head Academy in 2014-16 to support it out of special measures. Whilst Head at St. Joseph’s her achievements included:

Developed productive, mutually beneficial international immersion projects both in Sierra Leone and India.

St. Joseph's has raised over £500,000 for Sierra Leone, with a similar amount for local causes since 2004.

Secured funding and oversaw planning and design for new Sixth Form and Sports Hall now on site.

The school became a Teaching school and set up a SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training) which has developed large numbers of teachers for the schools in Stoke.

Established Stoke's Mathematics Excellence Patnership securing over a million pounds investment to improve Maths outcomes in the secondary schools in Stoke and attract, train and retain the best Maths teachers for the City.

Appointed a National Leader in Education in 2010 and awarded an MBE for services to education in 2018
